Dalia Mogahed

This confusing yet justified combination of Egyptian facial features and evident loyality to America drew my attention to the extent that made me listen carefully to the news on TV, a thing that rarely happens. It was Dalia Mujahed, the first muslim woman to be appointed in the white house.Last month Obama founded a new body in the white house called "The office of religious partenerships"that aims at providing advice to the president about how americans belonging to different religions and beliefs think about the current policy and at serving as a link between different religious groups. Dalia , born in El-sayeda zeinab-cairo-Egypt moved to theUS when she was 5 years old .She is now the head of "Gallop American Center For Muslim studies"and a co-author of the recently released book "Who speaks for islam ?". In many web sites , as I read, Dalia was blammed for declaring that her first loyality is to the US , but how can one expect any otherthing ? that is her country, where she lived, recieved her education and finally that is where she got the biggest oppurtunity to express her self and talk about her religion and correct the erroneous image of Muslim Americans. what I like most about the way she speaks is that all her speech is based on facts, results of studies and surveysnot on mere opinions and beliefs. I hope she will do something good to Islam and muslims on one hand and be an example for true muslims who hold fast to the instructions of religion,Hijab I mean , and at the same time participate  effectively in achieving welfare of their countries

I think, that she is in the right place to speak and bring together diverging opinions about muslims and Islam. She is a well chosen person, in an excellent institution.
